St. Columba Catholic Church
Faith Formation Program
Conversing with God 2009-2010
The Faith
Formation Program at St. Columba is a comprehensive, whole community approach to
catechesis and ministry. Presented in this
website is a brief description of each Faith Activity that is part of the
overall Faith Formation Program. For
your ease, all activities related to
a particular age group (Adults,
High School,
Middle School,
Elementary School and
Preschool) have been arranged on a page together.
The table at the bottom of this page will guide you to the appropriate
pages. Below is
a summary of information regarding the Faith Activities
offered at St. Columba. This table
is a Quick Reference to activities, dates, times and locations.
Embracing a catechetical model called for by the
General Directory for Catechesis,
our Faith Formation program is rooted in four
Faith
Festivals that will be held throughout the year.
These Faith Festivals are an opportunity for us to gather as a parish
family, grow as a community in faith, and share our experiences and faith with
one another.
Thomas Groome, a Catholic
educator, writes that “it takes a village to raise and sustain a Christian.”
We, as the parishioners of St. Columba, are the “village” in Dothan
charged with raising and sustaining the future generations in the faith.
As you examine this Faith
Formation information, may your hearts be open to the ways in which we are called
to grow in our own faith to share it with others, especially the children of our
parish.
Parents, please carefully read the
Policy and Procedures
and the
Role of Parents pages, especially the paragraphs regarding the Drop Off
and Pick Up Policies for 1st-8th Grade Students and conduct for High School
Students attending LifeTeen.
