Below are some of the Ministries at St. Columba

The ministry of Pastoral Services for Families recognizes these needs in our parishioners. Some of the services provided in keeping with these needs are:

Care Team

The Care Team provides support for the homebound, isolated, and sick. They visit, keep in contact with, and support those who cannot readily get out of the house, who are sick, or who need help with such things as shopping or getting to doctor appointments. If you would like to join the Care Team or would like more information please call Ann Peters at 673-0591.

Burse Club

The Burse Club is for the education of young men who are studying for the priesthood in the Archdiocese of Mobile. Burse Club membership is only $1.00 per month or twelve dollars per year. Please consider this most worthwhile charity. You may pay for the entire year, or place monthly contributions in the envelope provided in your packet. For more information, please contact the church office at 334-793-5802.

Grief Support Group
If you have experienced the loss of a loved one and wish to give or receive support call the church office at 793-5802 for information about our Grief Support Group. Please check the church calendar for meeting dates and times

Welcoming new families and individuals to the Parish

Coordinating information and referral services for parishioners

Directing parish outreach on issues affecting the sacredness of life Coordinating parish bereavement ministry, especially the Grief Support Group

Coordinating contact with parishioners discharged from hospitals and parishioners in assisted living facilities and nursing homes

Coordinating community among parishioners over 50, especially the Iona Club

Providing pastoral counseling and spiritual guidance

Pastoral Services
